What a wonderful evening our Spring Charity Ball was! Held on Saturday 10 October at the Rutherford Hotel Nelson, the event brought our community together for a night of great company, entertainment and generosity in support of Cancer Society Nelson Tasman.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, supporters and everyone who contributed on the night, we raised an incredible $35,940!

This is a fantastic result and will help us continue providing vital practical, emotional and social support to people impacted by cancer and their whānau throughout Nelson Tasman.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the evening such a success. From auction and raffle donations to event sponsorship and the many contributions made on the night, your generosity helped create a memorable occasion while supporting our work in the community.

We extend our sincere thanks to David Downs, our keynote speaker, for sharing his story with our guests, and to Emma Helleur, our MC and auctioneer, for helping make the evening so enjoyable. Thank you also to X TWO Z for providing the entertainment and keeping the dance floor moving.

Our appreciation also goes to the wonderful volunteers who gave their time on the night, helping with serving dinner, selling raffle tickets, assisting with the auction and so much more. A special thank you to Jan Holt and the ladies from Isel Floral Art Group for the beautiful floral table arrangements that helped create such a lovely setting for the evening.

As a community-funded charity receiving no direct Government funding, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue providing support to people impacted by cancer and their whānau. The funds raised through events like our Spring Charity Ball help us provide practical assistance, counselling, transport and other services to people across Nelson Tasman when they need it most.

We are proud to keep funds raised locally working locally, helping ensure no one faces cancer alone. Thank you for being part of this special evening and for your generosity, commitment and support of Cancer Society Nelson Tasman. We couldn’t do this without you.
