The incredible community at Summerset Richmond Ranges has once again shown just how much can be achieved when people come together for a cause close to their hearts.
This Daffodil Day, the Arts & Craft group at Summerset Richmond Ranges led a fantastic fundraising effort, raising an amazing $2,555 for local cancer support.
The fundraising involved plenty of creativity, hard work and community spirit. The group organised raffles, a sausage sizzle and a movie night, as well as making beautiful handmade daffodils.
One of the raffle prizes was a stunning canvas generously donated by local artist Jim Rhodes, which helped raise an incredible $650 towards the total.
But the fundraising effort was much bigger than the Arts & Craft group alone. Summerset residents and their family members generously got behind the various fundraising activities, buying raffle tickets, taking part in events and making donations.
The group also created a beautiful Daffodil Day display and raffle display in the entrance of the main building, helping to bring Daffodil Day to life and raise awareness among residents, visitors and the wider Summerset community.
Our wonderful volunteer Jan Wood recently popped in to collect the funds raised and meet with the team.

$2,555 will help Cancer Society Nelson Tasman continue providing practical, emotional and financial support to local people and whānau impacted by cancer.
