Yesterday we had the joy of gathering at Saxton Oval Pavilion to celebrate our amazing volunteers at the Cancer Society Nelson Tasman Volunteer Christmas Party. It was a fantastic way to mark the end of another busy and meaningful year, and the turnout was heartwarming.
A very special highlight of the event was welcoming Nicola Coom, Chief Executive of Cancer Society New Zealand, who flew in to share her story with our volunteers. Her words were inspiring and a reminder of the difference our volunteers make every day.
Today is International Volunteers Day, it feels like a perfect moment to acknowledge the incredible people who give their time, energy, and care to support our work. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Without their support, we simply couldn’t provide the services, support, and care our community relies on.
Thank you to Betty, Mark and Louis for lending a hand at the event, and to our whole team for helping the afternoon run smoothly.
We also want to thank Pomeroy’s Coffee & Tea for providing the coffee and pots, and Kudos Food Design for delivering an amazing catering spread that everyone enjoyed.
To all our volunteers: thank you for your generosity, kindness, and dedication. You make a real difference every single day. We are so grateful for each of you and wish you a safe and joyful Christmas season.
