Daffodil Rally for Cancer Show & Shine gets great turnout
What a perfect day at the Nelson Vintage Car Club Daffodil Rally for Cancer Show & Shine! We were blown away by the amazing turnout, with vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and eras rolling in throughout the day. The Moutere Hop also added to the excitement and fundraising, with their members doing a cruise before the event. All the cherished vehicles, lovingly maintained by their owners, made the day truly special. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone’s support, and we’re thrilled to announce an incredible $9,595.67 was raised! What an achievement!
This was the 7th Daffodil Rally to be held by the Vintage Car Club and the event is not limited to vintage cars or club members. There are a lot of different car clubs in the Nelson Tasman Region covering all manner of makes and models. The idea of the event is to capture those clubs, along with members of the public, to collaborate for a successful fundraiser but to also have a thoroughly enjoyable day.
There was an eclectic mix of vintage, classics American, one-make cars, 1950 or 60s, in fact any vehicle of any persuasion attended – it was truly something special.
Special thanks to Vintage Car Club of New Zealand and their wonderful crew in Nelson. A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers — Miraka, Pip, Kevin, and our entire team — for all your hard work. We also want to shout out Grey Stripes for providing wonderful entertainment (they generously donated their time for the event—so good!). And let’s not forget the delicious food and coffee (The Shot Nelson) that kept us all fueled throughout the day.
If you captured any pictures or videos, be sure to tag us in on Facebook and Instagram @cancersocietynelsontasman #cancersocietynelsontasman. We’d love to see what caught your eye! What was your favorite vehicle at the event? We were especially smitten with all the yellow ones… naturally!
Such a fun event and we are very grateful to everyone who came out and supported the day.
