Navigating cancer can be overwhelming – but no one should have to do it alone. We proudly support several local groups that offer connection, understanding, and practical advice. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in treatment, or adjusting to life after cancer, these groups are here for you.
Head and Neck Cancer Support Group – Nelson
When: Bi-monthly, 1st Wednesday of the month at Cancer Society Nelson office 102 Hardy Street.
This group is for people who have experienced cancer of the mouth and throat, including those who have had a laryngectomy. It’s a welcoming space to share stories, challenges, and strategies for living well.

Prostate Cancer Support Group – Nelson
When: 1st Thursday of the month, 1.30–3.30pm
Where: Broadgreen House, 276 Nayland Road
This active, well-established group welcomes men at all stages of prostate cancer. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or living with the condition long-term, you’ll find information, encouragement, and ongoing support.

Blood Cancer Support Group – Nelson

A supportive space for people living with blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

Look Good Feel Better Workshops
Skincare and Appearance Class with Cancer Support New Zealand
These gentle, in-person sessions are designed to support anyone experiencing the visible effects of cancer treatment, helping participants feel more like themselves again through practical skincare and appearance guidance in a warm and supportive environment.
Participants will receive:
- Simple, step-by-step tips for changes such as dry skin, skin tone changes, thinning brows, and lash loss
- A complimentary Feel Better Confidence Kit to use during and after the session
- A welcoming space to connect with others who understand, or simply take time for themselves
The class is delivered by trained facilitators from Cancer Support New Zealand and is free to attend. We’re proud to host some of these classes in our Nelson office, with additional sessions held at Pūtangitangi Greenmeadows Centre, Stoke.
These workshops provide practical beauty and skincare tips in a relaxed, understanding environment. It’s more than makeup – it’s about feeling like you again.
