What a day Daffodil Day 2026 was!
The rain and wind certainly made their presence felt across Nelson Tasman, but it didn’t stop our community from showing up. There was plenty of yellow around the region, along with some pretty special support for people and whānau impacted by cancer.
A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who braved the weather, stood at stalls, sold daffodils and pins, helped with collections and kept things moving throughout the day. Your time and commitment are what make Daffodil Day possible, and we couldn’t do it without you.
We’re also incredibly grateful to the schools, early childhood centres, businesses, community groups and individuals who found their own ways to get behind Daffodil Day. From fundraising at work and school to organising events, selling daffodils and collecting donations, we’ve seen so much effort and enthusiasm right across our region.
And, of course, thank you to everyone who donated, bought a daffodil pin or bunch of blooms, stopped by a stall, picked up some Daffodil Day goodies or simply took the time to support us. Every donation helps us continue providing support, information and practical help to local people and their whānau impacted by cancer.
Daffodil Day is about so much more than one day of fundraising. The money raised helps Cancer Society Nelson Tasman continue to be here for people in our community when they need us — whether that’s through one-on-one support, counselling, support groups, transport, practical assistance or information.
Most importantly, Daffodil Day is for the people facing cancer. We hope you felt the aroha and support of your community yesterday. You are at the heart of everything we do.
